RAPEX Saw 181 Reports in February

The annual total rose to 332, which is 10% higher than at the same point in 2016. Highlights of February data included:

  • Reporters (22 nations total): France (43 reports), Germany (24), Spain (22) Ireland (14), Cyprus (13) Malta (11).
  •  

  • Origins (21 nations plus unknown): China (86), France (31), unknown (15), Germany (14), Italy/Pakistan (4 each).
  •  

  • Products (20 categories): Motor vehicles (42), toys (32), childcare articles (18), protective equipment (16), jewelry (15), clothing/textiles/fashion and electrical items (8 each).
  •  

  • Risks (13 types): Injuries (66), chemical (45), choking (22), electric shock and strangulation (16 each), fire (9).
  •  

  • Brands/Models: Both known (134), just brand (23), just model (12), neither (12).
  •  

  • Remedies: Voluntary (123), compulsory (55), combo (3).
  •  

  • Risk Levels: Serious (134), other (29), info only (19).
