EC Want Feedback on Draft CLP Revisions

Comment by February 8 on the European Commission's draft updates to rules on classification, labeling, and packaging (CLP) of hazardous chemicals. The draft targets:

  • Need to address additions of, updates to, or deletions of substances subject to such rules by the European Chemicals Agency's risk assessment committee (RAC).
  •

  • The existence of revised acute toxicity estimates regarding numerous chemicals.
  •

  • Concerns about the methodology of a 2017 RAC opinion on concentration limits related to cobalt carcinogenicity.
  •

  • Need to reflect a 2017 RAC opinion on carcinogenicity of titanium dioxide due to inhalation exposure.
  •

  • Need to translate updates to harmonized chemical names into all EU languages except Irish.
