ECHA Faulted 208 for REACH Data in 2025

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) February 27 reported that in 2025 it sent 208 requests for more data on the safety of chemicals. They resulted from 214 compliance checks on some 1,200 registrations for 196 substances.

The agency received 241 replies to the data requests, including for those sent before the year. It deemed 70% sufficient and urged member state enforcement activity for the rest, including 15% as possibly needing risk management.

ECHA pointed to its recommendations (bit.ly/4svsjao) for companies on topics like classification/labeling, dossier evaluations, substance identifications, exposure assessments, and standardizing information. Those also give general advice like using good laboratory practices.
