Baiocco Nominated to Join CPSC

Dana Baiocco September 21 received the nomination to become a CPSC member. If approved by the Senate, she would be authorized to serve until October 2024. She would replace Commissioner Marietta Robinson, whose term is expiring, and she would give the Republicans a 3-2 majority.

She is a lawyer and partner at Jones Day, where she specialized in torts and business litigation, including defending consumer product liability suits. She also has focused on advising companies about CPSC reporting and recall duties.

She has been in Jones Day's Boston office since 2011. Prior to that, she was with the firm's Pittsburgh office, and she became a partner in 2007. From 1996 to 1998, she clerked for Judge Gustave Diamond of the Western Pennsylvania U.S. district court in Pittsburgh.

She holds a 1997 JD from Duquesne law school and a 1988 BS in journalism from Ohio University. According to the White House's announcement (bit.ly/2hoP4uL), she is a member of the Massachusetts and Pennsylvania bars, and she lives in Boston with her husband and daughter, although the release identifies her as "of Ohio."
