OPSS Gives Advice on Primary Authorities

The U.K.'s new Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) February 27 pointed to information on the nations' Primary Authority concept. The idea is to offer companies a central location for advice on regulations and standards.

The office's advice (bit.ly/2F39UOF) is aimed at the local authorities that traditionally had done much of the nation's product safety work. It is FAQ-style with brief answers on topics like Primary Authority benefits, types of partnerships, sectors covered, giving advice, inspections, and more.

A few months ago, the office's overseeing Department for Business, Energy, & Industrial Strategy provided a much longer guide on Primary Authority. See bit.ly/2GUCUVu.
