ECHA Aims New Website at Consumers

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) March 15 launched a website to provide information about chemicals in products. Unlike on its main site, the information is for consumers. ECHA said the impetus was a 2016 Eurobarometer survey finding high desire for such information.

The URL is chemicalsinourlife.echa.europa.eu.

Information categories include products, health effects, environmental effects, occupational issues, hints/tips. There also is a "trending" tab for popular topics.

When PSL checked the day of the launch, top trending topics, in order, were tattoo ink, glyphosate, artificial turf, BPA, and nanomaterials.
