Soft Toys: CBP May 12 reported (bit.ly/2X3lIqi) the seizure of 5,000 ducks from Hong Kong for excessive lead levels. The Doctor Duck toys were detained in March with samples sent to CPSC for testing. CBP estimated the value to be about $100,000. The seizure occurred at the Savanah, Ga., seaport. The toys are white, fluffy ducks with doctors' coats and stethoscopes. AI: Artificial intelligence, machine learning, human/robot and other new technology developments need attention in any updates to the EU Machinery Directive, according to a May position paper from ANEC. The submission (bit.ly/2WAveSI) also touches on fairground equipment, items covered under the Low Voltage Directive, software updates, cybersecurity, escalators, hold/run buttons, and more.
